- Recruit Entrance:
1. Sentry opens the first hatch.
2. Recruit moves into the holding pen.
3. Sentry checks over the Recruit for uniform, motto and badges.
4.1. If the Recruit passes the primary check, the Sentry steps on the green tile and sends the Recruit to the Recruit Pen.
4.2. If the Recruit fails the primary check, the Sentry directs the Recruit to go back to the front tile, steps on the red tile and sends the Recruit back into the lobby.
- E-1 to W-1 Entrance:
1. Sentry opens the first hatch.
2. Service member moves into the holding pen.
3. Sentry checks over the service member for uniform, motto and badges and cross checks the service member on the PTS.
4.1. If the service member passes the primary check, the Sentry opens the second hatch and the service member continues on into the headquarters.
4.2. If the service member fails the primary check, the Sentry must inform the service member what is wrong with his/her uniform, then steps on the red tile and sends the service member back to the lobby.
- W-1 to O-10 Entrance:
1. Sentry opens the first hatch.
2. service member moves into the holding pen.
3. Sentry checks over the service member for uniform, motto and badges and cross checks the service member on the PTS.
4.1. If the service member passes the primary check, the service member performs a right face and the service member salutes the Sentry and the Sentry salutes back. (Only to be performed when the Sentry has the appropriate cover on)
4.2. If the service member fails the primary check, the Sentry must inform the service member what is wrong with his/her uniform, then steps on the red tile and sends the service member back to the lobby.
5. Once the service member has been cleared and the Sentry saluted, the Sentry opens the secondary hatch and lets the service member proceed into the headquarters.
- OSD General/Senior Staff Entrance:
1. Sentry opens the first hatch.
2. Secretary moves into the holding pen.
3. Sentry checks over the Secretary for appropriate apparel, motto, and badges and cross checks the Secretary on the PTS.
4.1. If the Secretary passes the primary check, unlike with W-1 to O-10 entrance, the service member does not perform a right face and receive a salute, as they are not officers.
4.2. If the Secretary fails the primary check, the Sentry must inform the Secretary what is wrong with his/her apparel, then steps on the red tile and sends the Secretary back to the lobby.
5. Once the Secretary has been cleared, the Sentry opens the secondary hatch and lets the Secretary proceed into the headquarters.
- Allied Personnel Entry:
1. Sentry opens the first hatch.
2. Allied service member moves into the holding pen.
3. Sentry checks that the service member is wearing the correct badge and above the pay grade of E-4/OR-
4.1. If the service member passes the primary check, the Sentry opens the second hatch and the service member continues on into the headquarters.
4.2. If the service member fails the primary check, the Sentry must inform the service member what is wrong with his/her uniform, then steps on the red tile and sends the service member back to the lobby.
- Civilian Access Entry:
1. Sentry opens the first hatch.
2. Civilian member moves into the holding pen.
3. Sentry checks that the civilian is wearing the correct badge.
4.1. If the service member passes the primary check and is wearing the DoD - Civilian Access badge, the Sentry opens the second hatch and the civilian continues on into the headquarters.
4.2. If the civilian is not wearing the DoD - Civilian Access badge, the sentry steps on the red tile and sends the civilian back to the lobby.
